It’s nearly that time of year again when we celebrate all things Scottish…Saint Andrew’s day! Whether you’re lucky enough to have the day off, or you are planning to fit some festivities in at the weekend before the 30th of November, Capital Cars is here to give you the low-down on the best of St Andrew’s day in Edinburgh and to help you get around.
So, throw on your kilt, throw back a wee dram and let the celebrations begin!
On 29th November, St Andrew Square Gardens will be hosting a fantastic and totally free lineup of live music, workshops, storytelling and many other performances perfect for the whole family. In between shows, the kids can get into the spirit of things with activities like the haggis hunt or Saltire face painting. With the cold weather drawing in, let us keep you and your family warm and cosy as you travel to and from the St Andrew’s day celebrations.
If you are partial to some Scottish fare, you’ll be spoilt for choice on St Andrew’s day in Edinburgh. Restaurants around the city will be going all traditional, adding the likes of cullen skink, Balmoral chicken and cranachan to their menus. And no Scottish meal would be complete without sampling a whisky or two. So enjoy, indulge and let Capital Cars be your designated driver.
Why not finish off your Scottish celebration with a Ceilidh? Dance the Gay Gordons, the Eightsome Reel and Strip the Willow with your family and friends; it’s certainly an effective way to keep yourself warm at this time of year! Lots of venues across the city will be hosting St Andrew’s day ceilidhs on and around November 30th. After you’ve danced your socks off, sit back and relax in one of our cabs and we’ll get you home safe and sound.
