Customers are still unclear about whether they can use their credit card to pay for Edinburgh taxis. The confusion remains because there are some cab companies that take credit and debit cards and others that only offer this service on a limited basis.

When booking a taxi by card, you can pay in advance of your journey using our online booking system or the Capital Cars’ app. This is a helpful option for those times when you don’t have cash on you, you’re booking your taxi well in advance or you are ordering on behalf of a colleague, relative or friend. However, if it is more convenient for you, you can choose to pay the driver by card at the end of your journey, using the credit card machines fitted in all our taxis.
